Here Pirates Come A-Sailing
To the tune of 'Here We Come A-Wassailing'

by Pendragginink
December 10, 2005

aaa
(Commodore) Here pirates come a-sailing
Into Port Royal’s bay,
But they may not be a-plundering
If they’re true in what they say

(Pirates) Love and joy come to you,
Commodore and Governor too,
And God bless you, and send you
A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year.

(Commodore) They’re not your average pirates
That pillage and rape and kill,
They’re only dirty, thirsty scoundrels
Not fiends taking women ‘gainst their will

(Pirates) Love and joy come to you,
Sisters, wives and daughters, too,
And God bless you, and send you
A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year.

(Commodore) Good navy and civilian men,
In house and fortress by the sea
Remember these poor pirates
Wander homeless on the sea.

(Pirates) Love and joy come to you,
Tars, marines and townsfolk, too,
And God bless you, and send you
A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year.

(Commodore) They’ve have a purse filled up w’ gold;
Good pirates there’s no doubt
They bring French and Spanish loot
T’pay for rum and fun straight out.

(Pirates) Love and joy come to you,
Merchants, whores, barkeeps, too,
And God bless you, and send you
A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year.

(Commodore) Bring them out a table full
And spread it with a cloth;
And take that loaded pistol,
Away from that Gillette oaf.

(Pirates) Love and joy come to you,
Groves, Mulroy and Murdock, too,
And God bless you, and send you
A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year.

(Commodore) Bless all good men and ladies here
For this one day at least
Put piracy and noose aside
Join in a Christmas feast.

(Pirates) Love and joy come to you,
Ladies? uh, yeah, Liz and Ana too,
And God bless you, and send you
A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year.
