It came upon, my duty clear
As Commodore of the Crown
To catch the scoundrels on the sea
That come to loot our town
Make war on them, and kill them all
In service to the king
I smirked that I should be the one
To make Jack Sparrow swing
Then to Port Royal came pirate scum
With tattered sails unfurled
And stole my dear Elizabeth
Away on the Black Pearl.
But then that blacksmith, misguided Will
Did courageous on honor stand
And oer Jacks babel in rum soaked breath
The governor kissed off my plans
Mine are the hardships of Navy life
(No Elizabeth in my bed.)
Beneath my Turner-blade have rolled
At least twenty pirate heads.
But one at war with good men, hears not,
The Christmas song which they bring:
O hush the noise, ye Navy swabs,
And hear the Pearl crew sing.
For lo! their days are hastening on,
And Sparrow has even foretold,
That no more real pirate ships
Will come to steal our gold;
And peace shall reign or the West Indies,
(Welcome to the Caribbean)
So pour the rum, enjoy the cheer
That Captain Jack Sparrow brings.
