Sacking of Port Royal

INTRODUCTION
"---You
can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man or you
can't. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you'll have to square
with that someday."
-Jack
Sparrow, Captain of the Black Pearl
In the weeks since pirate Captain Jack Sparrow escaped
execution, Will Turner finds nightmares have replaced his dreams
of a happy ending as the full, terrible implications of lifting
the Aztec curse at the 'opportune moment' is revealed. While
the young blacksmith struggles with his unexpected heritage
as a pirate's son, the love of his life, Elizabeth Swann, fights
the chains of social prejudice in a futile attempt to hold on
to their dream of a life together.
Jack Sparrow's wily trick forces Will to acknowledge
a debt owed and pulls the son of Bootstrap Bill into the dangerous
intrigues of two pirate captains, one bent on revenge and the
other with a promise of his own to fulfill. As battle, treachery,
and a deadly duel loom, Will Turner at last must "square
with the pirate in his blood". In so doing, he will find
himself walking the narrow line between pirate and law-bidding
citizen, can he retain his balance or will he be pulled into
his father's footsteps? For Elizabeth, it's an all out war to
keep the man she loves from falling under the spell of the sea
and one Captain Jack Sparrow who would like to replace the friendship
and camaraderie of the father, with that of the son. Lurking
in the background, Commodore Norrington waits to spring a deadly
surprise that could dash the hopes and dreams of them all
.and
it ALL happens during the sacking of Port Royal

Note to the Reader: Besides giving credit to Disney and Pirates
of the Caribbean for allowing me to play with their wonderful
characters, I would also like to credit Paramount Studios and
their pirate film from the 80s "Nate & Hayes" for
allowing me to include a couple of their characters as well. Captain
Bully Hayes, his ship the Rona, and Hayes' arch villain, Ben Pease.
While I did NOT stay true to the Pease character except by name,
I HAVE attempted to write Bully Hayes as he was played by Tommy
Lee Jones. ~ TortugaBlack |
